PROJECTS/ACTIVITIES

i. GAMES AND SPORTS:

Games and Sports is a part of the School curriculum as it develops the physical, mental and emotional aspects of a student. The School organizes various games and sports programs as part of CCA. Games and sports inculcate loyalty and patriotism for one’s country. Games and sports are conducted every Saturday in an organized manner like football, volleyball, badminton, carom, cricket and chess under the guidance of Physical Education Teachers. Our school team participates in circle level competitions in football and cricket.

ii. CULTURAL:

Mahabodhi is the abode of many tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. Their culture is unique that can be seen when displayed in their traditional dances, music and songs. Apart from their tradition the students also learn modern dance and display them in various occasions such as the Annual Function, Teachers’ Day, Independence Day, Children’s Day, Gandhi Jayanti and Republic Day.

iii. FIELD TRIPS :

The secondary students of the School are taken for Field Trip once every year to learn by interaction with nature. The students had been taken to the Irrigation dam of Dumba Village, the origin of the stream Diyun Nala, the Water supply reservoir of Diyun town and adjoining areas, to Miao Town for Science Exhibition, the Namdapha National Forest Reserve. Students learn a lot with these field trips.

iv. SCOUTS AND GUIDES:

The Scouts and Guides is a voluntary, non-political, educational movement for young people, open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed in accordance with the purpose, principles, method and laws. The purpose of the movement is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual growth. They are taught to be trustworthy, loyal, friendly, courteous, disciplined and careful.

v. LITERARY ACTIVITIES:

Genre is an important word in English. We teach different genres of literature such as poetry, short stories, myths, plays, non-fiction, novels, mysteries, and so on. Literature is a complex text, when we speak about a kind of literature we are really speaking about a genre of literature. Literature is like an ocean. It has no boundary and can’t be measured or weighted. As a result various books from different publishers are collected and kept in the library. The students are encouraged to read them and gather knowledge from them as much as possible. To promote the encouragement various inter-club competitions like debate, extempore speech, essay competition, Quiz Competition etc are organized as part of the curriculum.

vi. ANNUAL SCHOOL DAY :

The School Celebrates its Annual Day called “HARMONIA DAY” during winter where all children participates whole-heartedly in different programs like games and sports, cultural programs, science and art and craft exhibition etc. Many distinguished guest and other personalities are invited and participates on the occasion

vii. YOGA :

Mahabodhi School imparts yoga as part of the curriculum so as the students keep themselves physically, mentally and intellectually fit.

viii. TREKKING/HIKING

The secondary students of the School are taken for trekking occasionally to develop them physically and encourage them on their physical, mental and emotional development. ix. MORAL EDUCATION :

The Mahabodhi School Diyun imparts not only formal education but also spiritual and meditation classes. Every day the school starts with prayer and meditation and also ends with five minutes of meditation. Moreover, the children are also brought to Temple for Dhamma discourse by Venerable monks on special occasions.
